The Governor of NSSI – Member of ISSA’s Bureau

On November 15^th 2013, at the World Social Security Forum (WSSF) of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the Governor of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) Mr Biser Petkov was elected as a member of the ISSA’s Bureau for a three-year term.

The Bureau is the management body of ISSA. It sets the strategic direction of the Association, prepares and adopts the programme and the budget, new members of ISSA etc.

NSSI attended the organized by ISSA World Social Security Forum, which was held from 10^th to 15^th November 2013 in Doha, Qatar. http://www.issa.int/News-Events/Events/wssf2013 At WSSF more than 1000 participants presented high-level social security institutions from 127 countries worldwide. During the Forum, Mr Petkov had useful bilateral meetings and was received by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of the State of Qatar – Abdullah Saleh Al Holayfi.

ISSA was founded in 1927. Currently 338 organizations administering social security in 159 countries are members. The social security institutions of Bulgaria have been members of ISSA since 1960.
