The National Social Security Institute (NSSI) won the prestigious award of the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies “BAIT – 2013“: “Contribution to the Development of the Information and Communication Technologies”. The institution was awarded in the category “Public Administration” for the development and deployment of the electronic service “Calculation of the estimated individual coefficient and the estimated amount of the pension”. Authoritative jury, including members of the management of the Association, honored NSSI among ten governmental administrations which had applied in this category.
The official ceremony took place on 29th January 2014 and was under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria – Mr Rosen Plevneliev. The award was handed to the Governer of NSSI – Mr Biser Petkov. In his address he thanked for the appreciation and stressed that this recognition is particularly valuable and timely in the context of the 17 new e-services, aimed at the insured and the insurers, implemented in just a year by NSSI. Mr. Petkov thanked the whole staff of the Institute, involved in the creation and integration of software products, for their efforts and achievements.
The electronic service “Calculation of the estimated individual coefficient and the estimated amount of the pension” is designed for people in working age who are about to retire. The report allows the calculation of the estimated individual coefficient and the estimated amount of the pension for retirement and pensionable age. With this means the insured can make an informed decision on whether to retire or to continue working. In just 2013 the service was used over 130 000 times by 25 438 users.
The “BAIT“ Award is annonced by the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies for the third consecutive year. The awards are in 11 different categories, honouring the achievements in the development of information and communication technologies of individuals, businesses and public bodies.
