During the Regional Social Security Forum for Europe, which was held from 18th to 20th April 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden, the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) was awarded a special prize for excellence in the electronic documents and data exchange for payment of short-term benefits.
The event was organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and brought together leaders of the social security institutions from all over Europe.
The prestigious award was presented to NSSI Governor Biser Petkov from ISSA President Errol Frank Stoové. During the forum Mr Petkov participated in a discussion “Leading Innovation in the Administration of Social Security in Europe” focusing on the possibilities for improving the quality of social security institutions’ services by use of modern IT and communication technologies. In his presentation he put an emphasis on the improved access to the social security by expanding the range of the provided electronic services.
The ISSA “Good Practice Award” is held every three years and this year it gathered 71 participants from 27 organizations in 19 countries.
