The National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria elected a new leadership of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI), with the deputies supporting the candidacy of the current Deputy Governor, Vesela Karaivanova-Nacheva, for the position of Governor of the institution. 141 MPs voted in her support. The parliament elected Ivaylo Zdravkov, who until now held the position of Regional Governor of Veliko Tarnovo District, as Deputy Governor of the NSSI. The mandate of the new leadership is for a period of four years.
Among the main priorities in the management program of Vesela Karaivanova are the targeted efforts to ensure that the National Social Security Institute remains a desirable place to work, for career and professional development. An irrevocable priority is also to achieve high citizen satisfaction with the services provided by the institute by diversifying the channels for informing users about their insurance rights and obligations and by increasing the usability of electronic services.
The goal of the new Governor is for the NSSI to be a dynamic and responsible organization and a reliable partner by finding a lasting solution to the issue of electronic document exchange within the framework of the coordination of social security systems and focusing the analytical work of the institute on the challenges facing the social security system. Possible solutions in the NSSI to be based on the principles of stability, dynamism, digitalization and innovation.
In his concept for the development of the NSSI, Ivaylo Zdravkov focuses on the implementation of modern information and communication solutions, through which the quality and scope of the electronic services offered can be further increased.
