A delegation of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI), led by the Governor Ivaylo Ivanov, visited Warsaw. The working visit was at the invitation of the President of the Polish Social Security Institute (ZUS), Zbigniew Derdziuk.
The two sides expressed their strong desire to deepen their cooperation and expand opportunities for the exchange of good practices in the field of social security. During the talks, strategic issues related to the digitalization of social security processes were discussed, and it was agreed that effective European integration in the field requires the mandatory use of the capabilities of modern technologies and the effective sharing of accumulated experience.
The Bulgarian side presented the successfully implemented projects of the NSSI in the field of digitalization, the development of electronic services and the implementation of innovative technological solutions. The challenges facing the institute regarding the coordination of systems and the electronic exchange of social security information (EESSI) in connection with the implementation of Regulation (EC) No. 883/2004 and its current updates were also highlighted.
The hosts shared the achieved results and the existing challenges facing the digitalization process, including the use of artificial intelligence and robotic automation of administrative and expert activities, as well as some of the new services delegated to the institution by the Polish government.
The delegations expressed their readiness to deepen joint work on specific projects and initiatives of mutual interest, aimed at increasing the efficiency and accessibility of social security for citizens.
